Cafe Chinitas
This a restaurant I went to during my first week in Madrid. They serve great traditional spanish food and the waiters are dressed in black tie. All the tables are arranged around the stage where, twice a night, there are two flamenco shows. I had seen flamenco before in Mexico but this show was real... [Extend]

Why Not
This is a small underground bar in Chueca that I've gone to a couple of times. While there's a mixed crowd, it's definitely popular in the gay community. The decor is a bit old school (in a good way) and the DJs have always been good, lots of throwbacks but not too cheesy. The place i... [Extend]

Making Of Hair Salon
This salon is literally right next door to my apartment and I walk past it about a dozen times a day. The service is great, the stylists were talented and friendly and the space is very well designed. It also only costs 25 euros for a haircut, which compared to New York is a great deal. They're... All the tables are arranged around the stage where, twice a night, there are two flamenco shows. I had seen flamenco before in Mexico but this show was really great. One of the singers brought his wife up on stage to dance (they were both in their 70's) and it was really adorable.

The decor is a bit old school (in a good way) and the DJs have always been good, lots of throwbacks but not too cheesy. The place is usually packed starting around midnight and there's a cover of 10 euros on the weekends (it comes with a drink though). My favorite part is the staircase that goes around the chandelier.

This is a very high-end sushi restaurant that is a part of the Wellington Hotel. While it is very expensive, the food and ambiance are excellent. The sushi here is comparable to the best places in New York and LA. My favorite dish was the raw sliced scallops, but everything we ordered was delicious. It is also conveniently located near some of the better nightclubs so it's a great place to have dinner before a night out.

This is a Thai restaurant that Andres recommended and the food is excellent. I've never actually been inside because they deliver and I have food delivered whenever possible. Everything on the menu is good put my favorites are the beef satay and the namya curry. Their delivery time is very fast (20 minutes) but they aren't open on Mondays and Tuesdays.
